bip-hop generation : vol.7 : janek schaefer

JANEK SCHAEFER (UK)
Janek trained as an architect at the Royal College of Art, emerged as a sound artist and composer, and lives and works in London. He uses context, invention, appropriation, alteration and abstraction as the primary influences for the creation of work in various media.
For the track, Vasulka Vauban's 'A Day in the Good Life', Janek collected and created sound in six different cities over six months and mixed them in a hotel room one wet winter afternoon in Brest, France. The result is a work of two halves, occupying the time frame of an illusionary day.
